Modern Slavery Act
Modern Slavery Act Statement for Another Africa Ltd
Introduction
Another Africa Ltd is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility under the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 to ensure transparency in our operations and to take steps to combat these issues. This statement outlines the actions we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and the partners we engage with.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Another Africa Ltd is a UK-based travel company specialising in African safaris and cultural experiences. We work with various suppliers, including accommodation providers, transport companies, and local experience operators, across East, Central and Southern Africa.
We recognise that the travel and hospitality industry carries risks related to modern slavery, particularly in supply chains involving third-party contractors, labour-intensive services, and international partnerships. We are committed to ensuring that our business and supply chain partners operate ethically and uphold human rights.
Our Policies on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking
To reinforce our commitment to ethical business practices, we have established policies and procedures to mitigate the risk of modern slavery, including:
Supplier Code of Conduct – All suppliers and partners must comply with our ethical standards, ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and no forced or child labour.
Due Diligence Processes – We assess new and existing suppliers to ensure they adhere to labour laws and ethical employment practices.
Whistleblowing Policy – We encourage employees, partners, and suppliers to report any concerns regarding unethical or exploitative practices within our business or supply chains.
Training and Awareness – We keep up-to-date on identifying and preventing modern slavery to ensure vigilance within our operations.
Risk Assessment and Due Diligence
We undertake a risk-based approach to identify and assess potential risks related to modern slavery in our supply chain. This includes:
Conducting due diligence on suppliers, particularly those operating in high-risk regions.
Reviewing employment practices, contracts, and compliance records of key partners.
Regularly assessing our policies to ensure they remain effective and aligned with legal requirements and industry best practices.
If we identify concerns, we work with suppliers to implement corrective actions. If a supplier fails to meet our standards, we terminate our business relationship.
Ongoing Commitment and Future Steps
We are committed to continuously improving our approach to tackling modern slavery. Our future goals include:
Enhancing our supplier assessment criteria to include stronger compliance measures.
Increasing collaboration with industry bodies and NGOs to share best practices.
Strengthening reporting mechanisms to ensure concerns are addressed effectively.
